Initial impressions of the Nintendo 3DS (and Mario Kart 7)

So yeah, the 3DS is pretty cool. 3D without glasses is a gimmick that actually works pretty well, at least by gimmick standards. It's just a shame for that part of the population who get nausea or headaches or other symptoms from it.

So the first thing I noticed was that the higher the 3D slider is, the more tetchy the 3DS seems to be about you looking at it from exactly the right angle. At first this meant I had to leave it on about half-3D, but I soon grew accustomed to the habit of getting the right viewing angle, and can already (I've only been playing it for about a day and a half) generally go straight into full 3D without much trouble.

My ideal Final Fantasy

It's been a while since I posted, huh? Well, I'm back!

Every Final Fantasy game has its merits and flaws. Of course, what counts as what is significantly argued among fans, so this is nothing more than my personal opinion. My intention is to cherry-pick what I consider to be the best game for each of a number of aspects, which if blended would create the ideal Final Fantasy game for me. Except of course, something would go wrong, and ruin it. Murphy's Law :P

Crisis Core: A Review

Ah, Crisis Core... the prequel to the bestselling and most famous Final Fantasy game ever. I finally bought it the other day, and I must say, I'm mostly pretty damn impressed with it.

For starters, let's talk about the graphics. The FMVs are top-notch, and the 'normal' graphics, while not perfect, are more than acceptable in my opinion. For an example of the lower limit of what I call acceptable, look at the 'normal' graphics of, say, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days on Nintendo DS. Obviously, it's not fair to compare games on two different platforms, but this is only a rough comparison. So, overall, I'd rate Crisis Core's graphics as "great".

Experiment #5318-C: "Blogging"

Greetings entities!

This message is part of an experiment to make contact with beings resident in the multiverse. These communiqués will most likely be intermittent and not particularly related to each other. In fact, the subject matter may vary wildly. I believe that this is not entirely unlike the phenomenon known in your particular universe as "Blogging", so for the sake of simplicity, let's call this a "Blog".
